I Think I Found My Halloween ‘09 Costume

Now all I need is a bitchy attitude (check!) and some half asian children (this might take some work).

All Her Career Needs Is A Little Bump

I absolutely loved the double entendre in the marketing for the Linday Lohan ABC Family “original movie!”:

Are they SERIOUS?! Anyway the movie was pretty decent for a made-for-tv-except-not-actually-made-for-tv-because-it-was-intended-for-a-theatrical-release movie. And I’m easy to please when I’m not paying anything to watch it.

P.S. – The Sarah Palin ads on my blog are out of control but I love them as well.

Let Me Tell You SOME MORE Things About My Family

Sad that Real Housewives of New Jersey is over? Welcome to my life. I am here to deliver however.

Apparently Dina and the never seen Tommy Manzo let VH1 film their 1.15 million dollar wedding for an episode of My Big Fat Fabulous Wedding! I am DYING.

Caroline, Caroline’s husband, Lexi, and Albie all make appearances. I might be missing other cameos, but the video streamed kind of grainy on my computer. I tried to keep an eye out for Jacqueline as a possible bridesmaid but I don’t think I saw her at all. It’s kind of weird how Tommy didn’t take part in RHONJ because he seemed really into being featured in this episode.

Please Pack Your Knives And Go

So… Top Chef Masters. Let’s talk about it.

I am a HUGE fan of Top Chef, but then again what Bravo show am I not a fan of? Oh yeah, The Fashion Show is awful. Anyways, I didn’t have great expectations for the show since it wasn’t going to be following the traditional Top Chef formula of following a bunch of wet behind the ears unknown chefs every week forming friendships/love affairs/rivalries all the while competing in some ridiculous cooking competitions.

topchefmasters

This time around, each week we have four different famous chefs competing in a quickfire challenge and an elimination challenge where three are sent packing and only one chef moves onto the end of season final championship round with the winners of other weeks.

The problem with this is that we never get attached to any contestant since each week is a different group. Additionally, these are all professionals with reputations to worry about, so there is virtually no drama besides the drama inherent in the challenge. Since the chefs are all more experienced than the typical Top Chef contestant, the food tends to be better which makes for a less interesting episode without any major screw ups. There doesn’t seem like there is going to be any week where Tom Colicchio is like, “You guys were all awful this week and personally embarrassed me!” Speaking of Tom, both he and Gail Simmons are relegated to introducing the chefs at the beginning of each episode… and that’s the extend of their participation unless Gail needs to fill in. The judges are all renowned food critics this time around — luckily without Toby Young on the panel.

There has to be some upsides though, right? Kelly Choi, who I immediately recognized as the host of Eat Out NY who wears too much makeup, is definitely a more competent and credible host than Padme Lakshmi (although I do have some love for Padme). Also, I can’t wait to see what ridiculous hat Gael Green will wear each week.

I’ll continue to watch it since there is really NOTHING on television right now, but this isn’t going to become a favorite anytime soon. Where is the All-Stars Season we’ve all been dreaming of?? — yes, I know there was a single episode All-Stars Challenge but I want MORE.
