Control Yourself

So here we have two music videos that should have been released ages ago but apparently only saw the light of day recently.

The first is for… get this… a FIVE YEAR OLD Kanye song. One of my favorites actually. It was clearly made back in 2004 but for whatever reason was never actually released. You can tell from not only Kanye’s face still being somewhat swollen from his accident like it was for the majority of the debut album’s release, but also the style of the video is so much more old school Kanye and nothing like the new adventurous/avant garde/artsy Kanye.

The interesting thing is how this song is so much more relevant and relatable in tightened bootstrap 2009 than booming 2004. It’s awesome that Kanye decided to release it. In classic ALL CAPS KANYE, here is his take on it:

I DIRECTED THIS VIDEO FOUR YEARS AGO BUT I WASN’T SATISFIED WITH IT SO I NEVER RELEASED IT. BUT NOW LOOKING BACK AT IT I LIKE IT.

Next up we have MGMT’s video for Kids. This song is pretty ubiquitous and the album has been out for a while so I figured it had a video and that I just hadn’t seen it. I was wrong, and apparently this only came out a few days ago as well:

That poor child. He is adorable and hilarious, but will definitely be scarred for life from this. I also totally want his MGMT headband.
